This Winchester Model 70 Ultimate Shadow pairs the proven Pre-64 controlled-round-feed action with a lightweight composite stock and a 24-inch free-floating barrel in 7mm WSM. Built at Winchester’s New Haven plant between 2003 and 2006, it represents one of the earliest factory rifles chambered for the short-magnum cartridge, giving shooters magnum performance in a trimmer package.

The Ultimate Shadow series was designed for hunters who wanted Model 70 accuracy without extra weight. Its composite stock features sculpted rubber overmold panels that improve grip in wet conditions while the WinSorb recoil pad softens the fast 7mm WSM’s kick.
The rifle retains Winchester’s Pre-64 style full-length claw extractor and controlled-round feed for smooth, reliable cycling. A jeweled bolt body adds a touch of classic Winchester refinement and aids debris shedding in the field.
The 24-inch chromoly steel barrel is free-floating and capped with a recessed crown to protect the rifling. The sporter contour keeps the rifle light while still providing enough mass for consistent accuracy and heat management.
A three-position wing safety lets the shooter load and unload with the safety engaged. Factory drilling and tapping accept the included Weaver bases, ready for the optic of your choice.
