Factory machine scroll engraving covers the frame, cylinder flutes, barrel flats, and under-lug, adding visual depth without altering the classic lines of the Model 29. All engraving is done by Smith & Wesson, ensuring consistency with the company’s historical style.
The 4-inch carbon-steel barrel combines effective muzzle control with easy holster carry, while the full-length extractor-rod shroud maintains the iconic profile. The pinned red-ramp front sight and micro-adjustable square-notch rear sight give a crisp, fast sight picture.
A high-polish blued finish complements the deep engraving and contrasts with the case-colored wide hammer and smooth combat-width trigger. The checkered, scroll-carved walnut target stocks include S&W medallions and fill the hand for steady control of full-power .44 Magnum loads.
The revolver uses Smith & Wesson’s internal key lock safety system, hidden neatly on the frame. Its six-shot fluted cylinder is not recessed, in keeping with modern production standards, and the N-frame provides proven strength for sustained magnum use.
