Kimber Custom LW Nightstar .45 ACP 1911 Pistol – Match-Grade 5" Barrel, Aluminum-Frame, Limited-Run Finish
The Custom LW Nightstar pairs Kimber’s proven Government-length 1911 with a lightweight 7075-T6 aluminum frame and a limited-time Nightstar cosmetic package. A match-grade stainless 5" barrel, skeletonized trigger and hammer, and high-visibility fiber-optic sights give this full-size .45 ACP practical accuracy with carry-comfortable weight. Contrasting stainless small parts and laminate wood grips complete a distinctive look that set this short-run model apart.

The Nightstar variant was offered for a limited period, distinguished by its two-tone matte-black slide over a black-anodized aluminum frame set off with stainless controls and an extended beavertail grip safety with memory bump. This cosmetic package was not part of Kimber’s standard Custom LW lineup, enhancing collectability for buyers seeking something outside regular catalog fare.
At 31.2 oz empty, the 7075-T6 frame trims several ounces versus a traditional steel Government model, making the pistol easier to carry without sacrificing the familiar 1911 geometry. The frame’s front strap is left smooth, providing a classic profile that pairs well with the textured black/gray laminate grips.
A match-grade, stainless-steel barrel with 1:16" left-hand twist is fitted to a full-length guide rod, promoting consistent lock-up and shot-to-shot repeatability. Front and rear slide serrations aid manipulation, while the skeletonized aluminum trigger delivers a crisp single-action break typical of Kimber’s Custom series.
For rapid sight picture acquisition, the pistol combines a red fiber-optic front sight with a low-profile two-dot white rear. Thumb and grip safeties provide the familiar 1911 manual of arms, and the pistol ships with one standard single-stack magazine.
