Winchester Model 50 Field Grade 12 Gauge Semi-Auto Shotgun, 30" Barrel, 1959 Production, Poly-Choke Equipped
Built in 1959 during Winchester’s short eight-year run of Model 50 production, this Field Grade 12 gauge pairs the innovative short-recoil, floating-chamber action designed by David “Carbine” Williams with a 30-inch Winchester Proof Steel barrel now fitted with an aftermarket Poly-Choke Super adjustable muzzle device. Fewer than 196,000 Model 50s were produced, giving this U.S-made, steel-receiver shotgun added appeal for shooters who appreciate mid-century Winchester engineering and collectors who value limited-production classics.

What's Included
- Winchester Model 50 Field Grade 12 Gauge shotgun with 30" barrel and installed Poly-Choke Super adjustable muzzle device
The Model 50 was Winchester’s first production semi-automatic shotgun to move away from the long-recoil design of the Model 1911, instead using a short-recoil, floating-chamber system that reduces felt recoil and improves cycling reliability.
This example retains its blued steel receiver capped by anti-glare serrations along the top, an alloy trigger guard, and the factory-cut diamond-point checkering on its walnut stock and handguard. The 14-inch length of pull provides a comfortable fit for most shooters.
An aftermarket Poly-Choke Super replaces the original fixed Modified choke, giving the shooter on-the-fly adjustment from cylinder to extra-full constrictions—ideal for adapting to changing field or range conditions without swapping barrels.
With its limited 1950s production window, U.S. manufacture, and the unique Williams action, the Model 50 stands out as both a functional hunting gun and a noteworthy link in Winchester’s semi-auto lineage, preceding the lightweight Model 59.
