Clark Custom’s heavy target/varmint barrel is the centerpiece of this build. The .920" diameter tube is stress-relieved, finished in deep blue, and fitted with a recessed target crown to protect the rifling and aid consistency. The barrel is free-floated in the stock, giving the rifle the accuracy potential serious rimfire shooters expect.
The 700-prefix Ruger receiver, produced in 1985, features integral dovetail scope bases for solid optic mounting and houses Ruger’s patented three-position safety. The stainless bolt body runs smoothly in the blued alloy-steel receiver, maintaining the classic two-tone look found on early 77/22 models.
Its walnut stock sports crisp cut checkering, sling swivel studs, and a satin oil/poly finish. A 13.75" length of pull fits most adult shooters, while the rifle’s overall balance remains steady thanks to the bull barrel’s forward weight.
Ruger’s flush-fitting 10-shot rotary magazine keeps the bottom metal clean and snag-free. Combined with Clark’s barrel and the bolt-action’s inherent rigidity, this rifle offers a dependable platform for target work, small-game hunting, or rimfire competition.
