1967 Colt Python First Generation 4" .357 Magnum Revolver – Royal Blue Finish
Built in 1967, this first-generation Colt Python pairs the renowned I-Frame action with the early high-polish Royal Blue finish that collectors prize. A pre-suffix serial in the 68 XXX range confirms its place in the early production run. The 4-inch barrel carries the classic ventilated rib and full underlug profile, while hand-fitted internals deliver the smooth double-action trigger pull that made the Python a legend.

This Python retains the hand-fitted V-spring action that gives the model its famously smooth trigger. The revolver features a smooth target trigger equipped with a stop screw for precise over-travel adjustment, and a wide serrated hammer spur that offers positive thumb purchase.
The carbon-steel frame, cylinder, and barrel all wear Colt’s early Royal Blue polish, a finish known for its depth and reflectivity. While wear is present, the underlying craftsmanship is still evident.
The four-inch carbon-steel barrel combines a ventilated rib with a full underlug, providing both heat dissipation and optimal balance. Iron sights consist of a pinned serrated ramp front sight and a fully adjustable square-notch rear sight, allowing fine elevation and windage tuning.
Fully-checkered walnut service stocks with inset gold Colt medallions complete the classic Python appearance and give a secure gripping surface during double-action work.
With its first-generation pedigree, collectible 1967 build date, and desirable 4-inch configuration, this Python offers strong appeal to enthusiasts seeking an early example of Colt’s flagship .357 Magnum revolver.
