The DEF15 is built on Armalite’s forged 7075-T6 upper and lower receivers and finished with a Mil-Spec Type III hard-coat anodizing for lasting corrosion protection. The flat-top upper carries a full-length Picatinny rail, giving you direct optic or iron-sight mounting without additional adapters.
A 16-inch chrome-moly vanadium steel barrel is chambered for 5.56 NATO, offering safe use of both 5.56 and .223 Remington ammunition. The muzzle is threaded 1/2-28 and fitted with an A2 flash hider, making suppressor or muzzle device swaps straightforward.
The rifle uses the Stoner direct-impingement operating system and a carbine-length gas block without a bayonet lug to keep weight down. A two-piece polymer handguard covers the gas system, and integral heat shields help manage barrel temperature during rapid fire.
A six-position collapsible polymer stock provides quick length-of-pull adjustment for different shooters or shooting positions. Standard AR controls ensure compatibility with countless aftermarket parts, while the CAL MULTI receiver roll mark permits future upper receiver swaps in alternate calibers.
