Winchester Super-X Model 1 Field Grade 12 Ga Semi-Auto Shotgun, 30" Full Choke, Factory Engraved
Produced during Winchester’s short 1974–1981 run, this early-serial Super-X Model 1 Field Grade combines the company’s advanced gas-operated action with uncommon factory scroll engraving on a fully machined steel receiver. A 30-inch Winchester Proof Steel barrel with ventilated rib and fixed full choke, plus a satin oil-finished walnut stock, make this shotgun a standout option for shooters and collectors who value 1970s Winchester quality and limited production numbers.

What’s Included
- Gun case
The Super-X Model 1 uses Winchester’s short-stroke dual-ring gas piston, a system later echoed in the company’s subsequent autoloaders. This design softens recoil and delivers reliable cycling with 2 ¾-inch 12-gauge loads.
An uncommon foliate scroll pattern is factory-engraved on both sides of the gloss-blued receiver, adding visual appeal rarely seen on baseline field-grade autoloaders.
The 30-inch barrel, cut from Winchester Proof Steel, carries a ventilated rib and fixed full choke, giving tighter patterns for waterfowl or trap work. A single silver front bead offers a clear aiming reference.
Furniture consists of a satin oil-finished walnut stock and matching forearm, both cut-checkered for grip. Length of pull measures 14.5 inches, and a hard buttplate completes the traditional setup.
Serial prefix “M3” places this shotgun within the first 40,000 produced—roughly the midpoint of a six-year, 83,000-gun production run—enhancing its collectibility among Winchester enthusiasts.
