The forged aluminum-alloy frame, marked with the “LW” prefix, was produced by IMBEL in Brazil and finished in Springfield’s Geneseo, Illinois facility. This delivers reduced carry weight without sacrificing the strength associated with forged construction.
A match-grade 5-inch stainless steel barrel pairs with a two-piece full-length guide rod to promote consistent lock-up and smooth cycling. Combined with the crisp single-action trigger, the pistol is set up for tight groups right out of the box.
Springfield’s “Loaded” package adds practical upgrades: beavertail grip safety with memory bump, skeletonized delta hammer, lightweight three-hole aluminum trigger, and aggressive front and rear cocking serrations for confident manipulation.
Low-profile Novak-style tritium sights provide a bright three-dot picture in any light. The matte stainless slide contrasts with the black hard-coat anodized frame, while double-diamond checkered cocobolo grips offer secure purchase and classic style.
