SIG Sauer 1911-22 FDE .22 LR Full-Size Rimfire 1911 Pistol — 5" Barrel, Two 10-Round Mags, Discontinued Model
This 2012-produced SIG Sauer 1911-22 FDE offers the familiar controls and ergonomics of a Government-length 1911 in an affordable .22 LR platform. Built in Germany by GSG for SIG, it sports a Flat Dark Earth finish, walnut “U.S.” grips, and a lightweight alloy slide and zinc-alloy frame. The model was discontinued after roughly 2014, making clean examples like this one increasingly hard to find.

Manufactured by German Sport Guns for SIG Sauer, this pistol retains classic 1911 styling while chambered for economical .22 LR, making it an approachable training or plinking option that mirrors centerfire controls.
The full-size 5" barrel and Government-length slide are matched to an alloy slide and zinc-alloy frame, keeping weight reasonable without sacrificing the 1911’s balance. Both slide and frame wear a uniform FDE finish that resists glare and blends well with modern accessories.
Operational features include single-action-only lockwork, a skeletonized aluminum trigger, and a commander-style hammer. Manual thumb, grip, and firing-pin safeties provide familiar 1911 security.
Three-dot contrast sights give a clear sight picture; the rear unit is drift-adjustable for windage. An external extractor enhances rimfire reliability—an upgrade over many .22 LR 1911 clones.
Checkered double-diamond walnut grips marked “U.S.” nod to WWII-era 1911A1 aesthetics while offering solid purchase. Factory proof marks read “MADE IN GERMANY” with SIG Sauer Exeter, NH import stamp, underscoring its German origin.
