The Ruger-57 operates on Ruger’s Secure-Action internal hammer system, giving a single-action-like trigger pull with the reliability of a hammer-fired design. The flat-faced trigger incorporates an integral safety blade, complementing the ambidextrous thumb safeties and a loaded-chamber inspection port for clear status checks.
Its alloy-steel barrel measures 4.94 inches and uses an 8-groove, 1:9 in. right-hand twist optimized for the lightweight, high-speed 5.7 mm projectile. Forward and rear cocking serrations, lightening cuts, and factory optics cuts on the black-oxide slide simplify manipulation and allow direct mounting of popular micro-red-dot footprints with the correct plate.
The glass-filled-nylon frame keeps weight down while offering a full grip length and a molded Picatinny accessory rail for lights or lasers. A reversible magazine release and contoured grip panels accommodate right- or left-handed shooters without modification.
Sighting duties are handled by a bright green fiber-optic front blade and a fully windage- and elevation-adjustable serrated rear sight, giving a crisp sight picture in varied lighting conditions. Combined with the pistol’s low felt recoil in 5.7×28 mm, fast follow-up shots are easy to achieve.
