The C-Series was Colt’s first run of Second-Generation blackpowder revolvers, built in the USA using original-style tooling and finishes. This example retains the period-correct color case-hardened steel frame and blued steel cylinder, both executed to Colt standards.
The 7.5-inch octagonal steel barrel is fitted with fixed iron sights—a dovetail front blade and hammer-notch rear—and is rifled with a 7-groove, right-hand gain twist for authentic period accuracy.
The revolver operates on the original single-action percussion system and holds six rounds of .44 caliber blackpowder ammunition. Smooth walnut grips replicate the feel of the 19th-century U.S. Mounted Rifle models.
Colt’s roll-engraved cylinder art, depicting a Dragoon engagement with Comanche warriors, remains crisp and unmarred, underscoring the gun’s unfired status. Matching serial numbers on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, and cylinder confirm its factory-assembled integrity.
With its limited production, flawless bore, and comprehensive factory accessories, this Dragoon stands out as a collectible Colt that bridges historic design and modern craftsmanship.
