What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson blue two-piece factory cardboard box with serial-numbered label
The serial prefix N195XXX dates this revolver to the second year of the 28-2’s 1970s production run. Being the service-grade counterpart to the Model 27, it offers the same forged N-frame strength but with a matte bead-blasted finish that reduces glare and cost without compromising durability.
The 4-inch heavy barrel is pinned to the frame for secure alignment and sports a solid rib with a pinned serrated Baughman ramp front sight. Chambers are recessed, fully enclosing cartridge rims for added support when firing high-pressure .357 Magnum loads.
S&W’s smooth-face, case-hardened trigger and wide checkered hammer provide a consistent, reliable double-action/single-action pull. A fully adjustable S&W micrometer rear sight allows precise elevation and windage corrections, complementing the crisp iron sight picture.
Checkered walnut Magna service stocks with inlaid S&W medallions complete the square-butt N-frame, offering a secure grip and classic appearance. The carbon-steel frame, cylinder, and barrel are all finished in an even matte blue oxide that resists reflection and blends minor handling marks.
