What’s Included
- Janssen Sons & Co external hammer 12 ga side-by-side shotgun (serial 9059)
Janssen Sons & Co employed the robust Jones screw-grip under-lever, prized for solid lock-up and straightforward maintenance. The extractor (non-ejector) system keeps the gun mechanically simple and period-correct.
The 30" fluid-steel barrels feature a plain matted rib topped with a single brass bead. Both tubes are stamped 18,7 and carry fixed Improved Cylinder chokes, offering a wide, even pattern ideal for classic upland or clay pursuits.
Case-hardened steel receivers, hammers, trigger guard, and tangs exhibit factory scroll and leaf engraving that remains crisp despite wear. The patina shows authentic field use while still highlighting the original craftsmanship.
The walnut stock wears a semi-pistol Prince of Wales grip with relief carving and a splinter fore-end. Though the buttplate is absent, stock dimensions remain unaltered, preserving the shotgun’s antique profile.
Proof marks include the crowned oval ELG final proof, the Perron inspection stamp, and multiple star-over-letter controller marks, confirming Belgian origin and compliance with smokeless powder standards.
