This Optima pistol offers CVA’s proven inline performance in a compact, easy-to-carry handgun configuration. Built around a 14-inch 416 stainless steel barrel produced by Bergara in Spain, it combines a break-action design, quick-release breech plug, and integral scope rail—features that make it one of the few factory muzzleloading pistols approved for dedicated muzzleloader handgun seasons.

The 14-inch barrel is button-rifled, fluted for weight reduction, and finished with a recessed crown to protect the rifling. The 1:28 right-hand twist stabilizes modern sabot or full-bore .50-caliber projectiles.
A break-action, single-shot layout keeps operation simple and reliable. The Quick-Release Breech Plug threads out by hand, so cleaning and unloading are straightforward—no tools required.
The aluminum-alloy frame wears a durable black anodized finish and pairs with a black synthetic grip that has molded finger grooves for a positive hold, even with gloved hands.
Up top, a factory scope rail lets you add optics without gunsmithing, while the red fiber-optic front sight offers a clear reference for those who prefer open sights.
