What’s Included
- Ithaca Model 49R Saddlegun .22 LR lever-action rifle
The Model 49R distinguishes itself from Ithaca’s single-shot Model 49 by adding a 15-round tubular magazine, giving plinkers and small-game hunters faster follow-up shots without sacrificing the compact feel of a saddle carbine.
A 20-inch blued steel barrel balances well with the walnut stock and fore-end, delivering a traditional look while keeping overall weight manageable. The bore remains clean with strong rifling, supporting consistent accuracy with standard .22 LR ammunition.
The cast-alloy receiver wears Ithaca’s original black enamel finish. While finish wear is present, the alloy construction resists corrosion, and the exposed hammer maintains the classic lever-gun manual of arms that many shooters appreciate.
Iron sights consist of a bead/blade front and a folding leaf rear. The rear sight’s elevator is absent, so elevation adjustment will require replacement. Despite this, the rifle retains its factory dovetail, allowing easy fitting of a correct elevator or an alternative sight.
Produced in the United States during the 1960s and 1970s, the Model 49R offers shooters and collectors an authentic vintage lever-action experience in an affordable rimfire platform, backed by Ithaca’s historic reputation.
