What’s Included
- Thompson Center Thunder Hawk Shadow .50 caliber muzzleloader rifle
This Shadow submodel features Thompson Center’s Thunder Dome breech system, allowing quick, tool-free access for cleaning and primer removal. The inline bolt-type striker delivers consistent ignition with standard #11 percussion caps, reducing misfires compared with side-lock designs.
The 24-inch round barrel is cut from chrome-moly steel and finished in a deep blue. A 1:38 right-hand twist stabilizes modern sabot or conical projectiles, giving hunters flexible load options. The barrel is factory drilled and tapped, so adding a scope base is straightforward when iron sights are not preferred.
The black glass-filled composite stock keeps overall weight around 7 pounds and resists weather better than wood. Molded checkering provides a sure grip, and sling-swivel studs come installed for easy carry in the field.
Adjustable iron sights include a hoodless ramp front blade and a fully-adjustable rear notch, offering precise elevation and windage control straight from the factory.
With its limited 1996–1998 production window, solid build quality, and practical field features, this Thunder Hawk Shadow holds appeal for both shooters and collectors looking for a reliable inline muzzleloader from a pivotal era in black-powder development.
