Product Description

    Springfield Armory M1903 Sporterized .30-06 Bolt-Action Rifle — 1930 Nickel-Steel Receiver, 24-Inch Barrel, Scope Base & Aperture Sight

This 1930 Springfield Armory M1903 has been thoughtfully sporterized for hunting and target use. Built on a nickel-steel receiver in the desirable inter-war serial range, it features a 24-inch blued barrel, Monte Carlo walnut stock, and receiver-mounted micrometer aperture sight. The action retains the M1903’s robust dual-lug, cock-on-open Mauser pattern while adding modern sporting touches like a scope base and wrap-around checkering.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Good – clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Rifling Condition: Good – intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Minor scratching, scuffing, and blemishing are visible on the metal surfaces and stock.

    What’s Included

    • Receiver-mounted one-piece scope base (installed)
    • Lyman-style micrometer aperture sight (installed)

The factory nickel-steel receiver, serial 1343XXX, sits firmly in the 1930 production block, prized for strength and smooth cycling. Springfield’s dual-lug bolt locks solidly, delivering reliable ignition with the .30-06 cartridge.

A custom walnut Monte Carlo stock with right-hand cheek-piece and wrap-around checkering provides a 13.5-inch length of pull and a comfortable sight picture when using either the aperture sight or an optic.

The receiver is professionally drilled and tapped, and an alloy one-piece scope base is already in place, streamlining optic installation without additional gunsmith work.

A 24-inch blued barrel balances the rifle for field carry while preserving the M1903’s inherent accuracy. The ramp front blade pairs with the micrometer aperture rear for precise, repeatable adjustments.

Removed military sling swivels, reshaped stock lines, and refined metalwork reflect the inter-war trend of converting surplus service rifles into practical sporting arms—making this piece both shootable and historically interesting.
