The Bushmaster BA50 delivers long-range, .50 BMG power in a purpose-built bolt gun that uses familiar AR-style fire controls. A 30-inch Lothar-Walther match barrel, free-float aluminum handguard, and full-length Picatinny rails give precision shooters a stable, easily accessorized platform, while the left-side bolt with right-side ejection keeps the firing hand on the grip. Weighing about 30 lb and engineered from 6061-T6 aluminum, this rifle combines heavy-caliber performance with rugged, modern construction.

The BA50’s 30-inch match-grade barrel is threaded and fitted with a proprietary 3-port side-vented brake that tames recoil and accepts suppressors or alternate devices. A 1:15 RH twist stabilizes a wide range of .50 BMG projectiles, supporting sub-MOA performance that Bushmaster advertises for this model.
Both receiver halves and the tubular handguard are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in hard-coat anodizing for corrosion resistance. Dual full-length 12-o’clock Picatinny rails—one on the upper receiver and one on the handguard—make it easy to mount optics, night-vision devices, and other accessories without segment gaps.
The stock is fully user-configurable: adjustable cheek riser, length-of-pull inserts, and an adjustable butt-pad help tailor fit for prone or bench shooting. A rubber over-molded finger-groove pistol grip improves control, while the rifle’s AR-style two-pin takedown architecture simplifies maintenance.
Drawing lineage from the Cobb FA50(T) and Remington R2Mi, the current Bushmaster production retains the left-hand bolt handle and right-side ejection—keeping brass clear of left-hand cheek welds and right-hand bolt manipulation. The manual safety is in the standard AR position, so controls feel familiar to most modern rifle shooters.
