Norinco SKS Type 56 Factory 26 Bullpup 7.62x39 | SGWorks Conversion, 20.5" Chrome-Lined Barrel, Picatinny Rail System
This Norinco SKS Type 56 began life at China’s Factory 26 and now wears the SGWorks bullpup chassis, giving the classic rifle a modern, compact form without cutting the original 20.5-inch chrome-lined barrel. The conversion adds full-length Picatinny rails, a detachable 20-round magazine, and a 4-slot flash hider, creating a feature-rich 7.62x39 semi-auto that still feeds from stripper clips if desired.

Built on a milled Jianshe Arsenal /26\ receiver, this rifle retains the renowned reliability of the Chinese Type 56 while adopting a forward magazine well and integral pistol grip for improved balance. The bullpup layout shortens overall length yet keeps the full-size 20.5" chrome-lined barrel for standard SKS ballistics and accuracy.
The SGWorks chassis provides a continuous top Picatinny rail plus side and bottom accessory slots, ready for optics, lights, or lasers. A ventilated polymer handguard and paracord-wrapped grip enhance handling comfort, while the cross-bolt safety remains in its familiar location for intuitive operation.
This conversion is fully reversible; all original SKS components can be reinstalled if the next owner prefers the classic configuration. Meanwhile, the included Tapco 20-round magazine increases capacity to 20+1 rounds and can be swapped for standard stripper clips thanks to the chassis’s open-top design.
The 4-slot flash hider moderates muzzle flash, and the short-stroke gas piston system maintains the proven functionality collectors expect from a Factory 26 Type 56. Overall, this rifle blends Cold-War heritage with modern ergonomics and accessory flexibility.
