Ruger’s Mayodan, North Carolina facility builds this Dark Series rifle to tighter tolerances than earlier 1895 variants, yielding smoother cycling and crisp lockup. The RM-prefix serial reflects this new-generation production.
The 16.17-inch alloy-steel barrel is cold-hammer-forged for longevity and threaded 11/16-24 to accept the included radial brake or your choice of muzzle device or suppressor. A 1:20 right-hand twist stabilizes heavy .45-70 Government bullets, while the ghost-ring/fiber-optic sight set delivers fast target acquisition in low light.
The straight-grip stock is molded from nylon-reinforced polymer with a removable cheek riser, rubber recoil pad, and ambidextrous QD sling cups. Paired with an aluminum M-LOK handguard, the rifle offers ample mounting space for lights, lasers, and bi-pods without adding excessive weight.
A full-length Picatinny rail eliminates the need for aftermarket bases, and the 5 + 1 tubular magazine keeps the profile slim. Cross-bolt safety, external hammer, and nitrided internals enhance safety and corrosion resistance for field use.
