Benelli Black Eagle Field 12 Gauge H&K-Imported Semi-Auto Shotgun, 26" Barrel, 1997
Imported by Heckler & Koch during the final year of the original Black Eagle run, this 1997 Benelli Black Eagle Field is a scarce, inertia-driven semi-auto prized by hunters and collectors alike. Italian made and H&K marked, it combines a lightweight aluminum receiver, reliable rotating-bolt action, and classic oil-finished walnut furniture in a package that set the standard for modern 3" 12-gauge autoloaders.
Condition
Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Specific Condition Notes: Some small scuffs and areas of finish wear are visible on the stock and receiver. The action cycles smoothly and the exterior still presents well.
What’s Included
- Benelli Black Eagle Field 12 GA semi-automatic shotgun (H&K import, manufactured 1997)
- Five Benelli screw-in choke tubes: Cylinder (C), Improved Cylinder (IC), Modified (M), Improved Modified (IM), Full (F)
Benelli’s inertia-driven action uses a rotating bolt head that keeps cycling clean and dependable, even after heavy shooting. This early Black Eagle showcases that system before the later Super Black Eagle updates, giving collectors a snapshot of the design’s original form.
The 26" steel barrel wears a gloss blued finish, a ventilated rib, and a red fiber front bead for fast target acquisition. A 3" chamber lets you run everything from light field loads to magnum shells, while the included set of factory choke tubes covers virtually any hunting or clay-target application.
The black anodized aluminum receiver carries the desirable “H&K Sterling, VA” import mark, verifying its limited U.S. import status from 1989-1997. A gold-tone trigger shoe adds a subtle accent that contrasts nicely with the dark receiver and rich walnut furniture.
Oil-finished walnut stock and fore-end keep weight down and balance lively. The stock’s 14.25" length of pull, pistol-grip contour, and ventilated recoil pad provide comfortable, repeatable shouldering.
With its scarce import history, clean bore, and complete choke set, this Black Eagle stands out as both a functional field gun and a collectible piece of Benelli history.
