Cosmi Mod. Extra Lusso 12 Ga Long-Recoil Semi-Automatic Shotgun, Coin-Finished, C. Tomasoni Engraving, 26" Boehler Antinit Barrel
This Cosmi Mod. Extra Lusso stands out for its rare break-open, long-recoil action that feeds eight rounds from a tubular magazine hidden in the buttstock. Fewer than 9,000 Cosmi shotguns have ever been produced, and each one is hand-fitted; this example adds full-coverage scroll engraving signed by master engraver C. Tomasoni, a coin-finished receiver, and exhibition-grade walnut furniture. Its 26" Boehler Antinit steel barrel, ventilated rib, and right-hand cast-off stock complete a package valued by serious collectors and shooters alike.

The Extra Lusso designation represents Cosmi’s highest embellishment grade. Here, the steel receiver wears a bright coin finish covered edge-to-edge with fine Italian scroll, tastefully signed by engraver C. Tomasoni on the lower tang.
The shotgun’s 26" barrel is crafted from premium Boehler Antinit steel—marked accordingly on the left chamber wall—and topped with a ventilated rib and white front bead for fast target acquisition.
Cosmi’s unique break-open design allows the entire action to pivot for loading and maintenance, revealing polished, serial-matched internals (#6050) that speak to the brand’s meticulous hand-fitting. The long-recoil mechanism cycles gently and feeds from an eight-round tubular magazine housed in the buttstock.
The exhibition-grade walnut stock features pronounced right-hand cast-off, a relaxed pistol grip, 24 lpi point-pattern checkering, and a 14.25" length of pull. A matching long semi-beavertail forend provides a secure, comfortable grasp and carries a sling swivel stud for field use.
Production numbers for Cosmi shotguns remain extremely low, and fully engraved Extra Lusso models such as this are highly sought after for their craftsmanship, unique engineering, and collectibility.
