The modular Central Operating Group is the heart of the Echelon. Because the serialized chassis drops into different grip frames, you can tailor size and fit without paperwork or machining—ideal for departments or shooters who share a common firearm.
Springfield’s Variable Interface System is machined directly into the slide, eliminating adapter plates for most optics. The system accommodates over 30 popular footprints and sits the optic low for natural sight alignment.
The 4.5 in. cold-hammer-forged barrel wears a durable Melonite finish and uses a 1:10 RH twist for reliable accuracy with the broadest range of 9 mm loads. A striker-fired, short-recoil locked-breech action delivers a consistent trigger with an integral blade safety.
Both the slide stop and reversible magazine release are mirrored on each side, and the slide carries forward and rear grasping serrations for confident manipulation with or without gloves. A tactical-rack rear sight allows slide cycling against a belt or table if needed.
