Smith & Wesson’s second-generation Bodyguard is the first in the series to adopt a striker-fired system, giving it a consistent 5-lb flat-face trigger pull and eliminating the external hammer of earlier models. The design change simplifies the manual of arms while maintaining the pistol’s pocketable profile.
A slender double-stack magazine increases on-board capacity to 12+1 rounds of .380 ACP, yet the grip circumference remains manageable for a wide range of hand sizes. The reversible magazine release supports both right- and left-handed shooters.
The stainless-steel slide and 2.75-inch barrel wear Smith & Wesson’s durable Armornite black finish. Scalloped serrations front and rear provide positive purchase for press checks or slide manipulations, and a loaded-chamber viewport offers a fast visual status check.
Carry-oriented sights include a bright orange-ring tritium front blade paired with a blacked-out U-notch rear, giving a clear picture in daylight and low light alike. Combined with the crisp trigger and 1:10" RH rifling, the sights help the micro pistol shoot well above its size class.
