Anschutz Match Model 54 Standard Match .22 LR Single-Shot Target Rifle, Heavy Barrel, Adjustable Trigger, Original Aperture Sights
This early West German Match Model 54 Standard Match represents the first generation of Anschutz’s storied target rifle line. Built in the late 1950s / early 1960s on the legendary Match 54 action, it features a fully free-floated heavy barrel, an extremely light two-stage match trigger, and the factory globe front and micrometer rear aperture sights. Collectors and precision shooters alike value these pre-UIT-rail rifles for their crisp lock time, balanced handling, and classic walnut stock workmanship.

What’s Included
- Micrometer rear aperture sight
- Globe front sight with dovetail base
The Match 54 action is renowned for its roughly 2 ms lock time, helping shooters break shots with minimal disturbance. This rifle’s action remains clean and tight, reflecting careful maintenance.
The 25.9-inch heavy profile barrel is fully free-floated and ends in a recessed crown to protect accuracy. Combined with a 1:16 twist, it is optimized for standard-velocity .22 LR match ammunition.
Anschutz’s two-stage trigger is factory-tuned but fully adjustable, allowing the user to fine-tune pull weight and take-up for true match performance. The current setup breaks extremely lightly, characteristic of serious competition rifles.
The oil-finished walnut stock offers a Monte-Carlo cheek-piece, palm swell, and crisp checkering for a stable hold from prone or benchrest positions. Unlike later models, this early Standard Match omits an accessory rail, keeping the forend slim and well-balanced.
All original target sights remain intact, giving the shooter precise elevation and windage adjustment without the need for add-ons. Together, these factory components preserve the rifle’s collectible integrity.
