The Springfield Armory Hellion brings the battle-proven Croatian VHS-2 bullpup platform to the U.S. civilian market in a compact, ambidextrous package. Its short-stroke gas-piston system, fully ambidextrous controls, and adjustable bullpup stock deliver rifle-length performance in a 16-inch package that handles like an SBR without the paperwork.

This Hellion is the commercial counterpart to the Croatian VHS-2 service rifle adopted in 2013, offered here in semi-automatic form for the U.S. market since January 2022. The bullpup configuration places the action and 16-inch cold-hammer-forged CMV barrel behind the trigger, keeping overall length short while preserving full-size ballistic performance.
A reversible ejection port, ambidextrous magazine release, selector lever, and non-reciprocating charging handle make the rifle equally suited to right- or left-handed shooters. The charging handle folds away when not in use and doubles as a forward assist.
The two-position gas block, clearly marked “N/S” for normal or suppressed fire, ensures reliable cycling with or without a suppressor. The 1/2-28 threaded muzzle with factory flash hider is ready for brakes or suppressors.
A monocoque polymer chassis reinforced with steel provides durability while keeping weight manageable. The five-position buttstock and spring-loaded cheek riser let the shooter tailor length of pull and sight height on the fly.
Integrated flip-up iron sights, a full-length numbered Picatinny top rail, and M-LOK handguard slots give plenty of options for optics and accessories, while the included BCM Gunfighter Mod 3 grip offers familiar AR-style ergonomics.
