Daniel Defense DDM4 V2 5.56mm NATO Semi-Auto Rifle | 16" CHF Barrel, Omega X 9.0 Quad-Rail, Mid-Length Gas System
This early-generation Daniel Defense DDM4 V2 pairs the brand’s cold hammer forged, chrome-lined 16-inch barrel with a mid-length gas system and the company’s Omega X 9.0 free-float quad-rail. The result is a lightweight, soft-shooting AR-15 platform that’s ready for optics, lights, and accessories. Discontinued and increasingly hard to find, this V2 also features the original “M4 Carbine” roll-marked lower, giving collectors and shooters a solid blend of modern performance and early DDM4 lineage.

The heart of the DDM4 V2 is its 16-inch 4150 CMV steel barrel. Cold hammer forging and a chrome-lined bore enhance durability and corrosion resistance, while the government profile keeps weight manageable. A 1/2-28 threaded muzzle makes it simple to add a suppressor or muzzle device.
Daniel Defense’s Omega X 9.0 free-float quad-rail is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and includes integral QD sockets for sling attachment. Free-floating the barrel helps maintain accuracy, and the 9-inch rail length offers ample real estate for accessories.
The mid-length gas system, partnered with a pinned F-marked A2 front sight base, delivers smoother recoil impulse than a standard carbine-length setup. On top, a flat-top upper with T-marked Picatinny rail makes optic mounting straightforward.
Forged 7075-T6 aluminum receivers wear a Type III hard-coat anodized finish for toughness in the field. A six-position collapsible stock and Magpul MOE grip provide ergonomic, adjustable control, while the Daniel Defense A1.5 fixed rear sight completes a rugged iron-sight package.
