What’s Included
- Winchester Model 9422 XTR lever-action rifle
Winchester introduced the XTR series as a premium upgrade, and this example shows why. The forged-steel receiver carries factory 3/8-inch grooves, so adding tip-off scope rings requires no gunsmithing. A takedown screw at the rear of the receiver lets the rifle separate quickly for maintenance or transport.
The 20.5-inch Winchester Proof Steel barrel feeds from a full-length tubular magazine—holding 15 rounds of .22 LR (17 of .22 Long, 21 of .22 Short)—giving the shooter plenty of capacity for plinking or small-game use. Despite the missing sights, the receiver grooves make optic installation straightforward.
A straight-grip walnut stock with high-gloss lacquer finish provides the clean, early-production look many collectors seek. Sling-swivel studs and a black alloy widow’s-peak butt-plate complete the classic XTR styling.
The polished lever and hammer flats, combined with the gloss blued metalwork, highlight Winchester’s late-1970s craftsmanship. As an early F-prefix rifle, this 9422 XTR offers both shootability and collectible appeal.
