The Springfield Armory Range Officer Target brings competition-ready accuracy to a full-size 1911 platform. Built on National-Match–spec forged frame and slide marked with the “NM” prefix, this 2010s-era pistol combines a stainless match-grade barrel, fully adjustable target sights, and a crisp single-action trigger. The result is a straightforward, purpose-built .45 ACP that earned a reputation for precision before the model line was discontinued.
Condition
Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Condition: Excellent – Clean, mirror finish, sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: Only a few faint handling marks are present on the Parkerized slide and frame; the pistol is otherwise well-maintained.

The forged National-Match frame and slide form the core of this Range Officer Target, giving the pistol tight tolerances and durability appreciated by serious shooters. The NM serial prefix confirms U.S. National-Match forgings.
A 5" stainless steel, bushing-mounted match barrel with a 1:16 LH twist works with a GI recoil system to deliver repeatable accuracy. Springfield’s matte Parkerized finish provides low-glare protection suited to range or match settings.
Sighting is handled by a plain black, dovetailed front blade paired with a fully adjustable square-notch rear, allowing quick elevation and windage changes without tools. Rear vertical serrations on the slide offer a positive grasp for manipulation.
The long, skeletonized aluminum trigger features an adjustable over-travel stop for a clean break, while the skeletonized rounded hammer speeds lock-time. Standard 1911 thumb and grip safeties, plus a firing-pin stop, provide familiar control.
Discontinued but still sought after, the Range Officer Target gives shooters a factory-tuned entry into bullseye, USPSA Single Stack, or informal target work without the cost of custom shop upgrades.
