The heart of this rifle is its cold hammer forged, chrome-lined 14.5 in barrel made from chrome moly vanadium steel. The lightweight profile keeps the front end nimble, while the 1:7 twist stabilizes the full range of 5.56 NATO projectiles. A factory-pinned and welded 3-prong flash suppressor brings the overall barrel length to a compliant 16 in and retains the 1/2-28 TPI threads for future muzzle device changes by a gunsmith.
The 13.5 in Daniel Defense MFR handguard is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, offering a continuous Picatinny rail up top and M-LOK slots along the sides and bottom for accessory mounting. Its free-float design maximizes accuracy potential while keeping weight to a minimum.
Upper and lower receivers are 7075-T6 aluminum with a Type III hard-coat anodized black finish. An enlarged, flared magazine well speeds reloads, and the ambidextrous charging handle accommodates both right- and left-handed shooters.
Furniture is equally purpose-built: a 6-position Daniel Defense stock with integral QD sling mount and textured surfaces, and folding polymer back-up iron sights that deploy quickly when optics are removed.
