The double-stack grip module is machined from hard-anodized aluminum, finished in black, and cut with aggressive hex-cell texturing for a firm hold without added bulk. Despite its compact Commander length, the pistol holds 17 rounds plus one in the chamber.
A 4.25-inch bull profile, match-grade barrel with a recessed crown mates directly to the slide—no bushing required—helping the pistol return to battery consistently while reducing felt recoil.
The tri-cut slide wears deep 30 lpi cocking serrations front and rear, a top lightning window, and twin side ports that lower reciprocating mass. Nighthawk’s Interchangeable Optic System (IOS) allows quick swaps between the installed Heinie Ledge plate and popular micro red-dot footprints.
A monolithic Recon frame with full-length dust cover houses an accessory rail for lights or lasers. All major surfaces—including slide, frame, and magwell—receive a wear-resistant silver DLC coating, while the barrel, controls, and magwell wear contrasting black DLC.
Single-action operation, a flat-faced trigger, Series 70 internal system, manual thumb safety, and grip safety deliver the crisp break and reliable function that 1911 shooters expect, refined at the custom-shop level.
