This USP Compact in .40 S&W is an early 1998 German-made example with the desirable “KI” date code and matching serials on slide, barrel, and frame. Built with a forged steel slide and a cold hammer-forged polygonal barrel, it combines the robust engineering H&K is known for with a compact, carry-friendly profile. The Variant 1 configuration features the left-side safety/decocker lever, and this pistol comes outfitted with Meprolight tritium night sights and a Hogue HandALL grip sleeve. Collectors will appreciate the original proof marks and importer stamp, while shooters will value the four factory 10-round magazines and HK hard case.

The USP Compact was engineered for duty use in a condensed form factor. This early production pistol retains the forged steel slide from H&K’s German facility, a feature sought after by collectors for its durability and original build quality.
The 3.58-inch barrel is nitro-carburized and cold hammer-forged, delivering long service life and the accuracy benefits of HK’s polygonal rifling. A captive dual-spring recoil system further reduces felt recoil and extends component life.
Variant 1 controls place the safety/decocker on the left side of the frame, offering both traditional DA/SA operation and cocked-and-locked carry. The modular design allows conversion to other HK trigger variants if desired.
Factory-installed Meprolight tritium night sights provide a clear three-dot picture in low light. The proprietary single-slot rail ahead of the trigger guard accepts HK-specific weapon lights or adapters.
A Hogue HandALL rubber sleeve enhances grip texture without permanently altering the polymer frame. Four factory magazines and spare finger-rest baseplates ensure the pistol is range-ready out of the case.
