Sig Sauer SIG556 SWAT 5.56mm NATO Semi-Auto Rifle – 16" Barrel, Quad-Rail, Side-Folding Stock
This early-production 2009 SIG556 SWAT pairs the Swiss SG 550’s short-stroke gas piston with American manufacturing. A 16-inch chrome-lined barrel, side-folding Swiss-pattern stock, and full aluminum quad-rail forend give shooters a compact, adaptable platform that accepts standard AR-15/STANAG magazines. Its two-position adjustable gas valve, rotary diopter sights, and 1:7 twist make it ready for both duty and range use.

The SIG556 SWAT employs a proven short-stroke gas piston, reducing fouling and heat transfer to the action. Its two-position gas valve lets the shooter tune the rifle for normal or adverse conditions.
A Swiss-pattern side-folding polymer stock brings overall length down to roughly 27 inches when folded, enhancing transport and storage without sacrificing a solid cheek weld when extended. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches.
The hard-coat anodized 7075-T6 aluminum receiver is topped by a full-length Picatinny rail, seamlessly matching the aluminum quad-rail forend for unrestricted optics, light, and accessory placement. Factory hooded front post and rotary diopter rear drum provide 100/200/300 m sight settings right out of the box.
Chambered in 5.56 × 45 mm NATO with a 1:7 twist, the 16-inch barrel stabilizes a wide bullet weight range. The rifle ships with a translucent 30-round magazine but runs reliably with any standard AR-15/STANAG magazine.
