The HK45 was developed for durability and accuracy. Its 4.5-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel uses polygonal rifling and an O-ring at the muzzle to improve barrel lock-up and shot-to-shot consistency.
DA/SA operation with an external rowel-style hammer offers a long, deliberate first-shot pull followed by a crisp single-action trigger. The V1 variant adds a frame-mounted safety/decocker that can be engaged in either hammer position for confident carry and administrative handling.
Ambidextrous paddle-style magazine releases and bilateral safety levers make the HK45 left- or right-hand friendly. The interchangeable backstrap lets the shooter tailor grip circumference, while an internal recoil-reduction buffer sleeve helps tame .45 ACP recoil.
A full-length Picatinny rail cut into the dust cover accepts lights or lasers without overhang. Fixed three-dot sights provide a 6.63-inch sight radius for precise target alignment, and the fiber-reinforced polymer frame keeps overall weight manageable for a full-size .45.
