Mossberg 590 Shockwave 12 Ga Pump — 14.5” Heavy-Walled Barrel, TacStar Side Saddle & Dual Picatinny Rails
This customized Mossberg 590 Shockwave pairs the platform’s compact, non-NFA 14-inch barrel design with a factory-drilled receiver and two accessory rails, giving buyers a ready-to-use defensive firearm that accepts lights, optics, or other add-ons right out of the box. The installed TacStar 6-shell side-saddle keeps extra ammunition on the gun without adding bulk, while the heavy-walled cylinder-bore barrel and twin action-bar pump system reinforce the model’s reputation for strength and reliability.

The 590 Shockwave is classified under the Gun Control Act as a firearm, not a shotgun, thanks to its 26.4-inch overall length and bird’s-head Raptor grip. This allows a short, maneuverable 14-inch barrel without NFA paperwork, making it well-suited for close-quarters defense or confined storage spaces.
The heavy-walled steel barrel uses a cylinder bore choke to maximize pattern spread with defensive loads. A single brass bead front sight offers fast target acquisition, and sling swivel studs fore and aft simplify carry options.
Mossberg’s twin action bars, dual extractors, and ambidextrous tang safety deliver the reliability and user-friendly controls that have made the 590 series a standard in duty and defensive roles. The aluminum alloy receiver is drilled and tapped from the factory and now carries both a full-length Picatinny rail and an extra 5-slot segment for flexible optic or accessory placement.
The installed TacStar side-saddle keeps six additional 12-gauge shells immediately accessible, while the ribbed polymer corn-cob forend with retaining strap ensures a secure pump stroke even under recoil. The absence of a heat shield keeps weight down compared to the SPX variant.
