Browning X-Bolt Varmint Special .308 Win. Bolt-Action Rifle, 24" Heavy Barrel, Laminated Thumbhole Stock
This Browning X-Bolt Varmint Special pairs a 24-inch heavy, free-floated barrel with Browning’s smooth 60° bolt lift for fast follow-up shots and clear scope clearance. Built by Miroku in Japan and now discontinued, it features the crisp, user-adjustable Feather Trigger and a striking laminated Paladin thumbhole stock that offers excellent stability for varmint or target work.

The 24" chromoly steel barrel wears a matte blued finish, a recessed crown, and a varmint contour that manages heat during extended strings of fire. Browning’s X-Lock system uses four screws per base to secure optics firmly to the receiver.
The laminated hardwood Paladin stock blends green, amber, and gray layers and incorporates a thumbhole grip, ambidextrous cheekpiece, vented beavertail forend, and laser checkering for a solid hold. An Inflex 1 recoil pad and sling swivel studs come factory installed.
The X-Bolt action’s two-position top-tang safety includes a bolt-unlock button, allowing the shooter to unload while on safe. A detachable rotary magazine feeds 4 + 1 rounds of .308 Winchester smoothly into the chamber.
Because this variant was discontinued in the mid-2010s, examples in excellent condition like this one are increasingly hard to find, especially with both magazines and the original box present.
