Built on a glass-filled nylon frame with an alloy-steel slide, it features Ruger’s Secure-Action™ single-action internal-hammer system, integral sights, and a last-round slide hold-open—features that improve on the original LCP while keeping the pistol exceptionally slim and easy to conceal.

The LCP II’s Secure-Action fire-control combines a bladed safety trigger with an internal hammer, giving a consistent single-action pull while retaining multiple passive safeties. A trigger-safety lever, inertial firing-pin safety, sear block, and hammer catch work together to prevent accidental discharge.
Its alloy-steel slide wears a durable matte-black oxide finish and carries diagonal cocking serrations for a solid grip. Integral machined front blade and square-notch rear sights are low-profile to reduce snagging yet remain usable for quick target acquisition.
The 2.75-inch barrel and 5.17-inch overall length keep the pistol highly concealable, while the aluminum chassis with integral steel rails adds strength without bulk. At just 0.91 inch wide and 3.71 inches tall, it fits easily in pocket holsters or small carry positions.
Ruger’s last-round slide hold-open is a welcome upgrade over the original LCP, providing immediate visual indication of an empty magazine. The included magazine accepts six rounds and is compatible with earlier LCP pistols, though only LCP II magazines activate the hold-open.
