Details
Introduced in late 2024 and showcased at the 2025 SHOT Show, the CDS9 is the first Kimber micro-compact engineered around a double-stack magazine. Despite its 15+1 capacity, it retains the straight-to-the-rear, 3.5-lb single-action trigger pull that 1911 shooters expect.
The optics-ready slide features a direct-mount RMSc footprint, eliminating adapter plates and keeping red-dot height low for faster sight indexing. Forward-canted cocking serrations and a two-tone stainless/black finish give the slide practical grip and visual contrast.
A match-grade, flush-crowned 3.18 in. stainless barrel teams with a dual captive recoil spring system to control muzzle rise and extend service life. The red TAG Precision Fiber-Lok front sight and serrated black rear sight provide a vivid, snag-free sight picture if you choose to run the gun without an optic.
The 7075-T6 aluminum frame is protected by Kimber’s KimPro II matte black/gray finish and integrates an accessory rail for lights or lasers. Aggressively textured grip panels are molded into the frame, ensuring purchase during rapid strings.
Ambidextrous thumb safeties, a grip safety, a flat-faced skeletonized trigger, and a skeletonized loop hammer complete the familiar 1911 manual of arms. The early production “AC” serial prefix confirms this pistol as part of the initial CDS9 run.
