Sig Sauer MPX Gen 2 KeyMod 9mm Pistol, 8" Threaded Barrel, Custom Ambi Charging Handle & 40-Round Mag Extensions
The MPX Gen 2 KeyMod is the discontinued 8-inch model that helped establish the MPX name for soft recoil and dependable suppression. This example stays true to the original formula while adding practical upgrades such as an aftermarket extended-wing ambidextrous charging handle, a Taran Tactical flared magwell, and two magazines fitted with +5 round extensions. Its short-stroke gas piston system, fully ambidextrous controls, and quick-change barrel design make it a versatile 9 mm platform that is increasingly scarce on the market.

Built around a 7075-T6 aluminum monolithic upper, the MPX Gen 2 features a continuous 12-o’clock Picatinny rail and an 8-inch free-float KeyMod handguard with an integrated hand stop. The result is a rigid yet lightweight front end ready for optics, lights, and other accessories.
The cold-hammer-forged carbon-steel barrel is nitrided for corrosion resistance, cut with a 1:10 RH twist, and threaded M13.5×1 LH to accept popular European-pattern suppressors. Combined with the MPX’s short-stroke gas piston system, it offers clean, reliable cycling—suppressed or unsuppressed.
Fully ambidextrous controls—selector, paddle-style magazine release, and bolt catch—come standard. The installed extended-wing charging handle further improves left- or right-handed operation, while the Taran Tactical flared magwell speeds magazine changes.
A telescoping dual-rod brace with hook-and-loop cuff keeps the package compact yet stable, and the quick-change barrel system allows caliber or length swaps without specialized tools. With the included +5 baseplate extensions, capacity climbs to 40+1 rounds, giving the shooter extra onboard ammunition without increasing overall length.
