The IC-A5 uses LWRC’s proven short-stroke piston system with an adjustable two-position gas block, allowing quick tuning for suppressed or unsuppressed fire. The piston design keeps fouling out of the receiver and bolt carrier group, promoting cleaner operation over extended strings of fire.
A 16.1" cold-hammer-forged barrel is spiral-fluted to shed weight and improve heat dissipation. The NiCorr treatment enhances surface hardness and corrosion resistance, while the standard 1/2x28 muzzle threads are ready for flash hiders, brakes, or suppressors.
The monoforged upper integrates a full-length, numbered Picatinny rail that mates cleanly with the 12" LWRC modular free-float handguard. Integral QD sling sockets on the handguard and receiver provide flexible sling placement without extra hardware.
Controls are truly ambidextrous—safety selector, magazine release, bolt catch, and charging handle—making the rifle intuitive for right- or left-handed shooters. The nickel-boron-coated bolt carrier group further reduces friction and simplifies cleaning.
A six-position collapsible stock, Magpul MOE pistol grip, and LWRC Skirmish flip-up sights round out a package originally developed for the U.S. Army Individual Carbine competition, now available to civilian shooters in a distinctive Tungsten Gray finish.
