The Slim series was Taurus’s original answer to the demand for ultra-thin 9mm pistols. At roughly 0.95 in wide, the PT709 disappears under light clothing yet maintains a full three-dot sight picture and a 3.25 in ordnance-grade steel barrel for reliable accuracy.
Second-strike capability sets this pistol apart from most micro 9mm competitors. If a round fails to fire, the trigger can be pulled again in double-action mode without needing to rack the slide—an uncommon feature in this size class.
An adjustable rear sight allows precise zeroing, while rear cocking serrations and an external extractor with loaded-chamber indicator provide practical feedback during administrative handling.
Safety features include a manual thumb safety, trigger-blade safety, internal striker block, and the Taurus Security System key-lock. The recessed magazine release protects against accidental drops while carrying.
The installed Clipdraw belt clip offers a minimalist carry option without a holster, complementing the pistol’s slim profile. Both included 7-round magazines are factory originals, ensuring reliable feeding.
