Marlin Model 336CS .30-30 Lever-Action Rifle, 20" Barrel, JM-Stamped 1995 Production
Built in Marlin’s North Haven, Connecticut plant in 1995, this Model 336CS pairs classic walnut furniture with a blued 20" Micro-Groove barrel and a solid-top, factory-drilled receiver. Its JM-stamped barrel confirms pre-Remington manufacture, while the cross-bolt safety identifies it as a mid-’90s variant. Chambered in .30-30 Winchester with a 6+1 tubular magazine, this rifle offers the reliability hunters and collectors expect from the 336 line.

What’s Included
- Marlin Model 336CS lever-action rifle
This 336CS retains the traditional 20" barrel length, balancing quick handling with effective downrange performance. The Micro-Groove rifling pattern was designed to reduce bullet deformation and ease cleaning, traits appreciated by shooters who run a steady diet of .30-30 loads.
The solid-top receiver is drilled and tapped from the factory, allowing easy installation of scope bases without gunsmithing. Its existing rail holes remain intact, so adding optics for deer season is straightforward.
Marlin’s cross-bolt safety, introduced in the mid-1990s, provides an additional layer of security while preserving the half-cock hammer notch long favored by lever-gun users. The external hammer gives clear visual status and can be manually lowered for safe carry in the field.
Walnut furniture with cut checkering offers a firm grip and classic lines. The 13.5" length of pull fits most adult shooters, and the full-length 6+1 tubular magazine keeps follow-up shots on tap without altering the rifle’s balanced feel.
