Steyr M95 Infantry Rifle 8mm (Barrel Marked 8×56R) | WWI Austrian Straight-Pull Bolt Action, 30.1-Inch Barrel
This Steyr M95 Infantry Rifle is an original World War I–era straight-pull bolt-action rifle. The barrel bears an I.O. INC Palm Bay FL import mark reading “8×56R,” indicating it was likely converted during the inter-war period; we recommend that a qualified gunsmith confirm the exact chambering before any firing. A full-length hardwood stock, distinctive rear-locking bolt, and five-round Mannlicher en-bloc clip system complete the classic military configuration.

What’s Included
- Steyr M95 Infantry Rifle, barrel marked 8×56R (gunsmith verification recommended)
Although the barrel is marked 8×56R, a professional gunsmith should inspect the rifle to verify its exact chambering before use.
A straight-pull bolt with rear-locking lugs enables rapid cycling, while the integral five-round en-bloc clip automatically ejects when empty—an innovative feature for its time.
The full-length hardwood stock shows service wear and a carved geometric motif on the butt, adding character and hinting at a previous soldier’s personal mark.
