Taurus Model 85 Stainless .38 Special Revolver, 2" Barrel, 5-Shot DA/SA Compact
This early-1990s Taurus Model 85 pairs classic stainless-steel durability with a compact, five-shot frame that rides easily in a holster or nightstand drawer. Rated for modern +P ammunition and built without the later internal lock, it offers dependable double-action/single-action performance in a simple, carry-ready package. Factory hardwood grips with inset medallions add a traditional touch to this versatile stainless revolver.

What's Included
- Double/triple nylon holster
Built on Taurus’s small frame, the Model 85 carries five rounds of .38 Special in a cylinder that rotates counter-clockwise for improved lock-up. The 2-inch stainless barrel and brushed satin finish resist corrosion while keeping weight manageable for daily carry.
A transfer-bar hammer block and rebounding hammer allow safe carry with all chambers loaded. This example predates Taurus’s 2005 internal-lock revision, giving shooters a straightforward, mechanical action without additional key locks.
The factory hardwood stocks feature inset Taurus medallions and provide a solid grip under recoil. Fixed iron sights—an integral serrated ramp front and a milled top-strap rear groove—offer a snag-free profile ideal for concealed use.
Proof marks read “TAURUS INT. MFG. MIAMI, FLA., MADE IN BRAZIL,” confirming authentic Brazilian manufacture for the U.S. market during the early 1990s production run.
