This Gen 3 G22 retains the signature Glock polymer frame, now enhanced with front finger grooves and an accessory rail for lights or lasers. The frame’s three-pin design reinforces the locking block and trigger mechanism, a change Glock introduced to handle the .40 S&W cartridge’s higher pressures.
Both front and rear sights have been replaced with high-visibility fiber-optic units: a green front rod for quick acquisition and a red chevron-notch rear for clear contrast. These sights gather ambient light, improving target focus in bright or indoor conditions without batteries.
The non-matching replacement barrel is cold-hammer-forged from chrome-moly steel, offering durability and precise rifling. Because the barrel is newer than the frame, the bore remains sharp and clean, extending the pistol’s practical service life.
Glock’s Safe-Action system delivers consistent striker-fired performance with three automatic safeties and the familiar trigger safety blade. Rear slide serrations provide solid purchase during press checks or manipulation, even with gloves.
