Built on the combat-proven HS 2000 design, the XD Service Model retains the original Croatian engineering while adding Springfield Armory branding and U.S. support. The 4" hammer-forged barrel receives a Melonite treatment inside and out, providing deep corrosion resistance and extended service life.
The striker-fired action incorporates a grip safety, trigger-blade safety, and internal striker/sear safeties, giving the shooter multiple passive layers of protection without adding external levers. A loaded-chamber indicator atop the slide and a rear striker-status pin offer quick visual and tactile confirmation of the pistol’s condition.
The black Melonite slide carries front and rear cocking serrations for confident manipulation. Fixed three-dot sights are dovetailed into the slide, allowing adjustments or aftermarket upgrades if desired.
An integral single-slot Picatinny rail on the dust cover accepts most weapon lights or lasers. The full-size polymer frame houses a 12-round stainless-steel magazine, bringing total capacity to 12+1 rounds of .40 S&W.
