Designed as the service-length variant, this XD pairs a 4" hammer-forged carbon-steel barrel with a full-size grip for balanced handling and controllable recoil. The Melonite-finished slide offers front and rear cocking serrations for positive manipulation and long-term corrosion resistance.
An integral three-slot Picatinny rail on the dust cover allows quick mounting of lights or lasers without additional adapters. The ambidextrous magazine release accommodates left- or right-handed shooters, and aggressive stippling on the polymer grip enhances traction under recoil.
Safety is handled through multiple passive devices: a grip safety, an articulated trigger safety, a loaded-chamber indicator that rises visibly and tactilely at the top of the slide, and a rear striker-status indicator. Internal drop safeties round out the system, keeping the pistol secure until the shooter intentionally fires.
Fixed steel three-dot sights are dovetailed front and rear for durability and easy replacement if desired. The 1:16 RH twist barrel gives consistent accuracy with standard .40 S&W loads, while the 10-round magazines ensure compliance in restrictive jurisdictions without altering the pistol’s familiar profile.
