Browning BT-99 Grade I Standard 12 Gauge Single-Shot Trap Shotgun, 32" Full Choke, 1971 Production
This 1971 Browning BT-99 Grade I Standard is an early Japanese-made example built by Miroku under contract. It features a 32-inch Special Steel barrel with a fixed Full choke, 2 3/4-inch chamber, and the classic single-barrel trap configuration that delivers a 70/30 point of impact. Hand-cut scroll engraving on the deep-blued receiver, a gold-plated single trigger, and select gloss walnut furniture give this shotgun its unmistakable collector appeal.

What’s Included
- Browning BT-99 Grade I Standard 12 Gauge shotgun (single-shot, break-action)
- Installed aftermarket ventilated rubber recoil pad
Built during the second year of BT-99 production, this shotgun carries the 71D serial prefix that confirms its 1971 manufacture. Early guns like this one predate Browning’s Invector system and instead use a fixed Full choke—well-suited for dedicated trap shooting.
The 32-inch Special Steel barrel wears a ventilated rib capped with a silver front bead and brass mid-bead for quick, repeatable sight alignment. An automatic ejector clears spent hulls instantly so the shooter can stay focused on the next target.
The receiver’s hand-cut scroll engraving complements its high-polish blued finish, while the gold-washed trigger adds contrast and a touch of period-correct styling. Inside, the hammerless break-action is simple, robust, and known for the crisp feel valued by competitive trap shooters.
Gloss-finished walnut furniture features a checkered pistol grip and beavertail fore-end for a secure hold. Length of pull measures 14.5 inches to the aftermarket recoil pad, which helps tame 12-gauge target loads during long rounds on the trap line.
