Product Description

    Smith & Wesson Model 6904 9mm Compact DA/SA Pistol – Third Generation, 3.5-Inch Barrel, 12-Round Capacity

The Smith & Wesson Model 6904 is a compact, metal-frame 9mm from the company’s respected Third Generation series. Produced between 1988 and 1999, this early-pattern example features the squared trigger guard, matte blue slide, and black anodized aluminum frame that define the model. Its 3.5-inch barrel, double-stack 12-round magazine, and triple-safety system make it a balanced choice for duty, carry, or collection.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Good – Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Rifling Condition: Good – Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

    What’s Included

    • One 12-round factory magazine with polymer finger-rest baseplate
    • Galco brown leather belt holster

The 6904 pairs a heat-treated 7075-T6 aluminum alloy frame with a carbon-steel slide. This keeps weight down while maintaining durability, a key advantage over many all-steel contemporaries.

Its DA/SA trigger system offers a long, deliberate first pull followed by lighter single-action follow-up shots. An ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker, firing-pin block, and magazine disconnect deliver the triple-safety redundancy that defines Smith & Wesson’s Third Generation lineup.

The fixed three-dot sights are steel and dovetailed front and rear, giving the shooter a clear, snag-resistant sight picture that can be drift-adjusted for windage.

Compact dimensions come from the 3.5-inch barrel and shortened grip, yet the pistol still accepts a 12-round double-stack magazine. This capacity-to-size ratio is one reason the 6904 replaced the earlier Model 469 and remained popular with both law enforcement and civilian shooters through the 1990s.

Wrap-around black polymer grips, an external ring hammer, and the squared trigger guard complete the period-correct look of this early production gun.
